High-Capacity batteries can produce large amounts of power and are capable of melting cable insulation and catching fire in the case of a short circuit. Each positive (+) cable connected to the battery must be protected by a fuse located in close proximity to the battery.

2. Can you please explain the difference between isolated and non-isolated Victron DC to DC chargers?
Isolated DC-DC chargers have one negative connection for each battery and there is no internal connection between the negatives and are used for systems that require limiting corrosion (Typically marine applications) and preventing noise on one battery system from affecting the other battery system. You can use either charger for systems that do not require isolation.
