The Explore Planet Earth Portable Solar 20A Iinline Solar Charge Controller utilises an advanced MCU with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology.

Coupling the solar charge controller with a suitable solar array, producing a maximum of 25V DC and taking advantage of the abundance of free sunlight available, this solar charge controller will perform to the highest level in the harshest Australian conditions.

To charge a 12V DC battery efficiently and safely due to the high voltage output produced by the solar array, usually around 18V (measured directly at the cell) it is advisable to use a solar charge controller, between the solar array and the battery being charged.

Explore Planet Earth has developed a true inline, 12V DC digital solar charger controller which includes smart charging technology, 6 stage charging algorithm, 20A current input rating and weather resistant construction to automatically adjust the voltage output, no matter what type of battery is being charged.

Simply, select the correct battery type, being either a GEL, AGM, WET (Lead-Acid), Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeP04) or Lead Crystal battery, then connect the appropriate leads to the correct battery terminals on the battery being charged and the digital solar charge controller will automatically decide the amount and rate of charge the battery needs.

This solar charge controller is currently supplied with our EPE Portable Solar Kit (SP551A) as standard and will also suit as a replacement or as an upgrade to existing portable solar kit up to 360W.
