What is required to finish my off-grid solar power setup?
A solar panel has to be connected to a charge controller to regulate current, and a battery to store the electrical power. You will need cable running from the panel to the regulator, then cable from the regulator to the battery.

What does it mean to be off-grid and on-grid?
On-grid simply means solar power equipment (array or solar panel) is connected to the electrical grid, while off-grid refers to systems that are not connected to the grid and therefore store the generated power for later use. Off-grid systems are not affected by grid blackouts, or more commonly for us when caravanners or campers don't stay at powered Caravan sites.

When is an inverter necessary?
To power a coffee maker, induction cooktop or other household equipment with this solar power kit, you will require an inverter to change the system's output voltage from 12V DC to 240V AC and a suitable size lithium battery too.
